Aslan Tanekenov
Associate professor
Aslan Tanekenov is Associate Professor at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He has been teaching Principles of Sociology at ISE since 2006.

For more than 10 years, Aslan Tanekenov worked as a Project Director & Consultant in various projects of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), USA, and the Department for International Development (DFID), UK and DCA, Denmark in Kazakhstan. He accomplished overseas project assignments in Bangladesh and Russia. Aslan also was a researcher at a governmental think tank institution, participated in cross-sector partnerships international research project at University of Cambridge in 2008.

Aslan Tanekenov obtained his PhD degree at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK in 2013, master's degree from the University of Glasgow, UK in 2002. He is certified trainer of British Council's Researcher Connect Programme.

Aslan was awarded the British Government Chevening Award in 2001.
