Having completed his master studies at KIMEP in 2002, Almaty, Alisher Aldashev went to the University of Regensburg as a PhD student. In 2007 he received a doctoral degree from the University of Regensburg. His doctoral thesis was “Theory of Job Search. Unemployment-Participation Tradeoff and Spatial Search with Asymmetric Changes of the Wage Distribution” under supervision of Prof. Dr. Joachim Möller and Prof. Dr. Lutz Arnold.
Alisher Aldashev started his research career as a research fellow at the University of Regensburg in 2004. In 2006 he moved to Mannheim where he joined the Department of Labor Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy of the Center of European Economic Research.
Alisher Aldashev has vast scientific and economic policy research experience having worked in projects of the Federal Ministry of Finance (Germany) and Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (Germany).
His research interests include but are not limited to labor mobility, economics of immigration, and duration of unemployment. Several of his articles have been published in recognized refereed journals including Labour Economics (Elsevier) and International Regional Science Review (Sage Publications) among others.
Since June 2009 Dr. Alisher Aldashev has been an Assistant Professor at the ISE, Almaty.
